Home Rehabilitation and Repair

At Neighborhood Nonprofit Housing Corporation we help income eligible homeowners in need of home repairs.  We facilitate access to three different programs: Northern Utah Neighborhood Improvement Program (NUNIP), Single Family Rehabilitation and Repair Program (SFRRP) and the Rural Single Family Housing (RSFH) grant.

Northern Utah Neighborhood Improvement Program

NUNIP is a grant of up to $17,000, available to households in Brigham City and Tremonton to make necessary repairs. Income qualifications are based on 80% of the Average Median Income by family size. Applicants must own and reside in the home to apply.

The following types of repairs are eligible for the program:

  • Replace substandard roofing

  • Replace siding, soffit, fascia & gutters

  • Replace single pane windows

  • Replace cracked, broken and hazardous driveways, porches and patios

  • Replace furnaces and water heaters

  • Replace sewer lines to house and interior lines

  • Concrete work (e.g., replacement of broken concrete, installation of driveways or wheelchair ramps)

Single Family Rehabilitation and Repair Program

WALKING

SFRRP is a Utah program available to households in qualifying “rural” areas. Major or minor home repairs can be financed at an affordable interest rate of 1 to 3%. Payments are based on household income and repayment eligibility. 

Applicants must own and live in the home. Mobile/manufactured homes built prior to 1976 are not eligible.

The following types of repairs are eligible for the program:

  • Roof replacement

  • Update plumbing, heating, cooling and electrical systems

  • Replace siding

  • Replace broken or inefficient windows

  • Add accessibility features

  • Eliminate health and safety hazards

  • Improvements to alleviate overcrowding

Rural Single Family Housing (RSFH) Rehabilitation Assistance Grant

Neighborhood Nonprofit Housing Corporation partners with the State of Utah to administer forgivable grants for rehabilitation of single-family, owner-occupied households in rural Utah.  Rehabilitation is the improvement or repair of an existing structure to provide decent, safe and sanitary dwelling units.

SFRRP is a Utah program available to households in qualifying “rural” areas. Major or minor home repairs can be financed at an affordable interest rate of 1 to 3%. Payments are based on household income and repayment eligibility.

Applicants must own and live in the home. Mobile/manufactured homes built prior to 1976 are not eligible.

Eligible improvements may include:

  • Roof repair / replacement

  • Replace siding, soffit, fascia & gutters

  • Replace broken or inefficient windows

  • Update plumbing, heating, cooling and electrical systems

  • Add accessibility features (wheelchair ramp, etc.)

  • Eliminate health or safety hazards

Grant Terms:

  • Funding will be provided in the form of a 5-year forgivable grant
  • Grant amount up to $25,000 per residence
  • Pro-rate portion of grant forgiven each year and fully forgiven after 5 years
  • A combined household income of <80% of county AMI is required
